Wilburn (Wilbern**) Jackson Addison was the second of eight children born to John Wesley Addison (1859 – 1940) and Susan Elizabeth "Susie" Verner (1857 – 1947). He was born in and lived in the Flintsville District of Franklin County, Georgia.

**There is a discrepancy in how Wilburn 's name is spelled. His daughter Olis spelled it "Wilburn" on several different occasions. The grave monument has "Wilbern." Others have written "Wilborn" or even "William." I have always chosen to spell it "Wilburn" as my mother Olis did.**

On Jan 7, 1904, Wilburn married Lydia Ann Williams, also of the Flintsville District of Franklin County, Georgia where they then lived. Their farm was located on the Carnesville and Toccoa Road near Lydia's parents' farm. Wilburn was noted to be a general farmer in the 1910 Census record.

Wilburn and Lydia had three children: Olis Mae Addison (1905 – 1986), Clara Lucille Addison (1909 – 1997), and Clara Lucille's red-headed twin brother, Marcille (or Marcile) Addison (1909 - 1910). The 1910 Census notes that Lydia had had three children with two living at the time of the census (dated 15 Apr 1910.)

Wilburn Addison died of Typhoid Fever on Sep 9, 1911. He and Lydia had been married for seven years. The 1920 Census for Lydia Addison, listed her as a widow and so verified his death was definitely before 1920. He is buried at Hunters Creek Cemetery in Carnesville, Franklin County, Georgia, where Lydia would be buried 55 years later.
