Goodson Pierce, 38 years old, died at St. Mary's Hospital at La Salle, Illinois, last Wednesday after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Rev. D.L. Druien and burial was in Saloma Cemetery. The body was brought to the home of his father, Robert Lee Pierce, Friday following his death in Illinois. He was a native of Taylor County and was born here on October 20, 1902, the son of Robert Lee Pierce and the late Mrs. Pierce. He mother preceded him in death six years ago.
He was united in marriage to Miss Pearl Glidewell on April 27, 1937. He is survived by his father, Robert Lee Pierce; his widow; two daughters, Nola Marie and Judith Louise Pierce; two brothers, Roscoe Pierce and Leonard Pierce, Taylor County; and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Raley, of Sullivan Indiana, Mrs. Eva Spratt, Rock Island, Illinois and Mrs. Grace Stevens, Owensboro, Ky.
