Leroy T. Waller passed away July 27, 1948. Dr. Lee as he was affectionately known was 82 years, 10 months and 30 days old. He had been ill for three and a half years and confined to his room the past six weeks. Surviving are Mrs. Lillie Beene Waller his Wife, daughters Mrs. Curtis Melton, Mrs. Lorene Pratt, Mrs. Francis James, Sons Leroy T. Waller, Jr., W. M. Waller, and Dr. Jarvis H. Waller. Three Children preceded Dr. Lee a great many years ago, Sidney and Marie both in early childhood, Conrad the only child of a previous marriage gave his life in the first World War. He is also survived by three sisters, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, two brothers and his parents Joseph Tarpley and Georgia F. Rowe Waller. In his passing Dr. Lee our community, Parish, State and Nation have lost one of its finest citizens. He was a pioneer in the development of this community. He completed his medical school which gave him a degree and he began to pratice when he was a young man. He was a member of the Baptist church and a Mason.
