Eva Maria Giffin, the 12-year-old daughter of Samuel and Gertrude Croson Giffin, passed away at the family home Saturday, July 11, after an illness of 24 hours with brain fever. She was born in York, Nebraska, July 22, 1902, and removed with her parents to Aledo last March. Eva was a very thoughtful child and was already filling a place of usefulness in the home, helping her mother who is in poor health and caring for her younger sisters. She is mourned by her parents and by her three younger sisters, Ada, Ethel and Helen and by a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the United Presbyterian church Monday afternoon, July 13, conducted by the pastor. Rev. J. B. Pollock. Interment was in the Aledo cemetery.
