ALEDO - Sam Giffin, 74, died at 3:30 yesterday afternoon at his home here He had been ill since Sunday The body is at the Sherrard funeral home here.
Mr Giffin was born in 1875 in Missouri and came to Mercer county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James H. Giffin, at the age of 1 year. He married Gertrude Crosen of Aledo Feb. 9, 1899, and they observed their golden wedding this year.
Mr. Giffin was an early auto dealer in Aledo, and had engaged in a variety of occupations since. Surviving are the widow and two children, Mrs. Walter Peterson of Aledo and Mrs. Alfred Smith of Reynolds.
