Death Takes Two Leading Covert Men
Death Came On Same Day To N. F. Sink 77, Merchant, and Dr. S. D. Brimhall
COVERT - Two of the oldest and best known residents of Covert, Nelson F. Sink, 77, veteran merchant and civic leader, and Dr. Simon D. Brimhall, 78, retired veterinarian, died Friday.
Dr. Brimhall, who also died Friday afternoon at his farm home west of the village, had been a resident of Covert since 1913, except from 1918 to 1922 when the family returned to their former home at Rochester, Minn.
He was born May 1, 1863, near Minneapolis and was later graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a retired veterinary surgeon and during the last seven years of his professional activity he was a member of the staff of the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, in the experimental department of the foundation.
He is survived by his wife who was Mary Mallory, and two sons, Graham, of Indianapolis, and Lawrence of Chicago, and four daughters, Mrs. Marjil Reed, Covert librarian, Mrs. Frances Abbott, Detroit; Mrs. Verida Wilson, of Jackson; and Mrs. Hope Taylor, Kalamazoo. There are ten grandchildren.
Christian Science services for Dr. Brimhall were held at the home Sunday afternoon, the service being read by Mrs. Mabel Church of Bangor. Burial was in Covert cemetery.
