Homer R. Wilt 86, of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Lakemont, died at 9 p.m. thursday, Sept. 3, 1981, in Altoona VA Medical Center, after an extended illness.

Mr. Wilt retired as a train engineer in Middle Division of the Pensylvania Railroad in 1960, after 44 years' service.

He was born Dec. 16, 1894, in Uniontown, the son of Eli and Annie (Swanger) Wilt, and was thrice married, first Aug. 8, 1917, in Roaring Spring, to Jennie G. Hoover, who died Oct. 29, 1957, then to Elsie M. Hewitt, who died April 26, 1966, and then to Ruth Brumbaugh, who died Feb. 24, 1971.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Gloria Ammerman of Eldorado and H. Ray of Juniata ; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Wilt was a member of the Hollidaysburg Church of God, Lakemont Lions Club and Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers.

He was an Army veteran serving in the Mexican Border War and World War I in France.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in Plank & Stitt Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.



WILT - Services for Homer R. Wilt, formerly of Lakemont, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Plank and Stitt Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, by the Rev. Thomas Irwin. Private interment will be made at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. until the time of services Sunday in the funeral home, Hollidaysburg.
