Etheldred D. Cooper enlisted 20 april 1862 at
Benton, Yazoo County, Miss. as a Private in
Battery (Company) B. 1st Mississippi Light
Artillery, commanded by Col. William T.
Withers. Etheldred D. Cooper was a cannon
loader and was wounded by a shell explosion
at the Battle of Port Hudson, La.
on 8 July 1863.
