Mrs. Margerie (Margie) Lamb, 93, of LaFayette, died Sunday, December 29, at her residence.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, December 31, at Rock Spring Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery with Rev. James Caulfield officiating.
Mrs. Lamb is survived by her daughter Emilie Ann Laney of LaFayette; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; four step children, Gene (Ruth) Lamb of Valley, Oscar Lamb of Montgomery, Louise Williams and Walter (Joan) Lamb - both she raised as her own of LaFayette; care giver Robin Laney of LaFayette; special niece, JoAnn Morgan of LaGrange; special friend Faye Walters of LaFayette; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lamb was born in Randolph County, Alabama on May 1, 1920. She was one of the oldest members of Rock Spring Baptist Church and was retired from the towel department of Fairfax Mill. She loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren coming to visit to hunt and fish and loved going to church and visits from her church family. She has read through the Bible four times starting on her fifth. She enjoyed going to the mountains with her daughter Emilie and niece JoAnn.
Mrs. Lamb was preceded in death by her husband Ray Lamb and son Richard Jordan, son-in-laws Herschel Laney and Billy Joe Williams.
Pallbearers were Jim Butler, Eric Butler, Brian Morgan, Brent Morgan, James Williams and Jamie Williams.
Jeff Jones Funeral Home, LaFayette, was in charge of arrangements.
