Minnie was born in Illinois, the daughter of Carl Braun and Martha (Arnold). Her siblings were Bertha, George, Carrie and Henry. She married Verdine Gillette on Sept. 9, 1905, in Grand Haven, Michigan, and was the beloved mother of twins, daughter Gilletta and son Gillette, and son Earl. She died from complications of childbirth, and was preceded in death by her infant. She was survived by her parents, husband, children and siblings.∼Death certificate:
