William "Bill" Peck Orchard passed away peacefully at home Dec. 5, 2011. Bill was born in Richfield, Idaho, Sept. 25, 1931, the 10th of 11 children, born to Lewis Earl and Iris Peck Orchard. Bill's youth was spent in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1953 and drove a tank during the Korean War. Afterward, he attended BYU where he met and married Bonita Rae Clark. They were married Aug. 30, 1956 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. Bill and Bonnie were transferred to Las Vegas with NCR in 1964. Here they raised their four children. Bill was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in northern California, and later served in the bishopric, as a Sunday school teacher, but most loved working with the scouts. Bill loved traveling with his family, the piano and playing with his grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Sondra (Kevin) Ward of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Gary, Mark (Mirna), and Brent Orchard, all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Cheryl Holloway. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. (viewing at 8:30 a.m.) Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the LDS Los Prados Chapel, 5160 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bill will be buried at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
