Lucy Myrtle 'Reynolds' Whittaker passed away in Cape Girardeau, MO, on Jan. 23, 1984, and was buried in New Lorimier Cemetery, Cape Girardeau, MO. She was 75 years and 11 months old.

Mrs. Whittaker was born in Feb. 9, 1908 to: John Henry Reynolds, (born March 13, 1859 and passed away in July of 1950 at 91 yrs. and 5 months old), and Ida May 'Curry' Reynolds, (born May 15, 1878 – April 10, 1953). She married Ruben Richard "Bus" Whittaker in Bloomfield, MO., on Feb. 6, 1926.

She was employed by Hobbs Cafe and worked 12 years in the delicatessen kitchen at Mr. C's IGA. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church and was formerly a member of Red Star Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben Richard "Bus" Whittaker on March 10, 1977. *(He was 68 years and 6 months of age. He died of a an apparent heart attack. He was born September 18, 1908 in Cape Girardeau. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and two grandchildren.

She was a cook and member of the Red Star Baptist Church.

She is survived by; six daughters, Mrs. Maxine Swanner of Jonesboro, AR., Mrs. Wilma Masters, Mrs. Doris Berry, Mrs. Retha Popp, Mrs. Peggy Duberay, Mrs. Antoinette McLain, all of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Floyd Whittaker of Jackson, MO., and Richard Whittaker Fresno, CA; 30 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren+.

She was buried in New Lorimier Cemetery, Cape Girardeau, MO.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
