SALEM,WI--Billy L. Gant, 82, of Salem, WI (Cross Lake), died on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Crossroads Care Center in Woodstock, IL.

Billy LeRoy Gant was born on July 9, 1929 in Muncie, IN, the son of the late Carl and Geraldine Hensley Gant.

On May 31, 1951 in Saratoga, IN, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Rebecca Fraze. She preceded him in death on February 8, 1008. They lived in Huber Heights, OH and Antioch, IL before moving to Cross Lake in 1969.

Billy served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army. He worked as a machinist for the Mamco Corp. in Racine, WI.

He was a former member and Deacon at Crossview Church in Antioch and was a member of the Linden Villa Baptist Church in Lake Villa, IL. He enjoyed working on "project". He had a great sense of humor.

Billy is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Krieger of Volo, IL; one son, Keith of Kenosha; two granddaughters, Jessica (John) Horan and Jennifer Krieger; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Austin Horan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, and a grandson, Jeremy Krieger.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr., Twin Lakes, WI. Interment will be on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Southern WI, Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in the town of Dover, WI. The Gant family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.
