Arlyn W. "Buzz" Bradford, age 77, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon. He was born September 4, 1934 in Jetmore, Kansas, the son of Israel White and Edith Lorraine (Blecha) Bradford. Buzz, as he was affectionately known, was a 1952 graduate of Jetmore High School. He worked as an electrical supervisor for utility companies throughout Kansas, retiring from The City of Pratt's Electrical Generation Department. While in Kansas, Buzz was a member and past president of the Kansas Municipal Utilities, was a member of the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency, a member of the Lion's Club, was a volunteer fireman, and church elder. On February 8, 1953 he married his sweetheart, Dorothy Law, in Jetmore. In 2004 they moved from Hutchinson, Kansas to Mt. Vernon, to be near family, after Buzz was diagnosed with severe dementia. They are members of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Mt. Vernon.

Buzz will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy; son Dale Bradford and daughter, Gayle Berry, all of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, Lonnie, Craig and Ryan Bradford, Aubrey Off and Jacob Berry; two great grandchildren, Payton and Brielle; mother-in-law, Mildred Law; one sister, Betty Faulkner of Moscow, Kansas; and one brother, Donovan Bradford of Pratt, Kansas.

A funeral service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2011, in the First Christian Church in Mt. Vernon with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, at the Fairmount Cemetery in Jetmore, Kansas conducted by Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore, Ks. Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church or the New Life Club 24 in care of the funeral home.
