As a young man, Ralph, lived in California where he joined with his father in the publication of the Sierra Madre Vista newspaper. After that he joined the U.S. Navy. In the Spanish-American war he was in the Army. Ralph was a Seattle fireman from 1906-1917.
Ralph was a member of Fortson-Thygesen Camp No.2, United Spanish War Veterans, and Seattle Lodge No. 211, Loyal Order of Moose.
At the time of his death, he was survived by: Daughter, Doris House Neumann, Three sons: Frank B. House, Ralph E. House Jr., Lawrence T. House, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His brother, William M. House, was born, February 28, 1867, in Ottawa, Franklin Co., Kansas and died of drowning in the Sacramento River, June 20, 1890.
His mother was Mary Jane Brown born about 1846 in Indiana.
His stepmother was Josephine (Josie) Sullivan 96968884.
