Effie M. Slonaker
Mrs. Effie Meanie SLONAKER, 90, Gary, died at 12:40 a.m. today in the Sobo nursing home, Gary. She had been in failing health for a year.
She was born Nov. 28, 1889 near Bruce lake to Schyler C. and Etta Marie OVERMYER WENTZEL. She married Plake SLONAKER on April 15, 1911; he died in 1958. She was a member of the Methodist church in Plymouth and the VFW auxiliary in Gary.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Ethel) GOSS, Rochester; Mrs. William (Betty) GOODMAN, Gary, and Mrs. Johanna WARRAN, Rochester; a son, Isaac [SLONAKER], Rochester; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, and several cousins. A daughter, a brother and s sister preceded in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev. Fred KUEBLER officiating. Burial will be in the Bruce lake cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. Sunday until the time of the service.
