New Paris, Ind - Funeral services for Henry Roose; 83 who died at 5:45 pm Saturday at the home of his son-in-law-and daughter, Mr and Mrs I Moses Beckner a half mile west of Goshen, were held this afternoon at the Yellow Creek church. Burial was In the Yellow Creek cemetery. The Revs Frank Kreider and Melvin Stutsman were in charge of the services.

Mr Roose suffered a stroke of apoplexy Friday morning and remained unconscious until his death.

He was born Jan 2, 1851, in Columbiana county, Ohio, the son of John, and Mary Roose, and was married to Catherine Miller in 1870. They lived on a farm near Dunlap until 1918, when they moved to a home on Indiana avenue, Goshen.

Mrs Roose died Feb, 1919, after which Mr Roose lived with his children. He was a member of the West Goshen Church of the Brethren.

Mr Roose is survived by his daughters and three sons, Mrs Minerva Elsenhour, Goshen; Mrs Daniel Reed, South Bend; Mrs Moses Hershberger, Nappanee; Miss Chloea Roose, rural route Goshen and Mrs Beckner, with whom he lived for 10 years; Amzy Roose, Mishawaka; Claude Roose of South Bend, arid Virgil M Roose of Chino, Calif.

There are also 41 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two brothers, David Roose of Blue Island, Ill., and Wilson Roose of Sturgis, and three sisters, Mrs Sarah Miller, South Bend; Mrs Lydia Nusbaum, Dunlap, and Mrs Emma Snyder, Goshen.
