DAYTON, Tenn., March 7. – Mrs. W. G. Allen died Wednesday evening at 11 after several years of ill health. She was before her marriage Miss Lizzie Thomison, daughter of W. P. Thomison, a pioneer of Rhea county. She was the oldest member of the local U. D. C. chapter, having been one of the leaders of the famous company of confederate women. Mrs. Allen was 80 years of age. Surviving are her husband, W. G. Allen; one son, J. G. Allen, of Dayton, and two daughters, Mrs. John O. Benson, of Chattanooga, and Mrs. J. B. Miller, of Los Angeles. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. J. F. Barnett Friday afternoon at the M. E. church, south.
