Lessie Maggie Shelton Bushnell 1918 - 2005
Lessie Bushnell, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Tooele, Utah. Lessie was born June 20th 1918 to Clemant Chapman Shelton and Sallie Elizabeth Hall and was one of ten children. She said of the occasion, "I came into this life with my best friend and twin sister Dessie. We were delivered on the front porch of our home by my daddy"! Grandma loved life and lived it to the fullest! Gardening, crafts and cooking were her hobbies. Fishing and quilting were her talents and family genealogy was her passion. Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by two brothers, Ennis and Dorothy and her children Beverly Taylor (Delbert), Marlene Peterson (Ross), Colleen Holcomb (Ken), Bonita Burgi Fish (Mike); son in-law Bill Burgi, and Lowry Avon Bushnell M.D. (Becky).
Lessie was preceded in death by seven siblings, first husband Ernest Burns, her lifelong love Joseph Avon Bushnell, her daughter Yvonne Melville, her grandsons Byron Dirk Melville and Zachary Ross Peterson, a granddaughter Wendy Holcomb, and finally two great-grandsons Jacob Scott Peterson and Michael Scott Middaugh.
Funeral services will be Thursday March 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Tooele 26th Ward, 1025 West Utah Ave. (200 N). Friends and family may call 9:30 to 10:30 prior to service and Wed. evening 6-8 p.m. at Tate Mortuary 110 S. Main Street, Tooele.
