Suggested edit: From the book, The Fighting Men of Oklahoma: CPT Cable was inducted into the service on July 1, 1941 at Dallas TX. He trained at Armament School, Lowry Field, Denver CO; Bryan Instrument School, Bryan TX; primary cadet training at Parks Air College, E. St. Louis IL, basic training at Randolph Field, San Antonio TX and advanced training at Kelly Field, San Antonio. CPT Cable served 14 months in the ETO participating in the battles of N. France, the Ardennes breakthrough, and Central Germany being assigned to the 361st Fighter Group, 376th Fighter Squadron in the 8th Air Force. He was awarded the Air Medal w/5 Oak Leaf Clusters.
