Sedor was baptized (as Izydor Keblesz) at the Greek Catholic Church, Wojkowa, Nowy Sacz Parish, now in Malopolska Voivodeship (province), Poland, on 26 March 1887. He was the son of Teodor Keblsez and Julia Uscki. He immigrated to the U.S. with his sister Anna to the port of New York on the ship Grosser Kurfurst from Bremen, Germany, 6 June 1907, at which time he was listed as a farm laborer. He worked as a grinder/toolmaker for the Eagle Lock Company, Terryville, CT, from 1910 until his retirement in December 1960.

Sedor married Anna Stawiski on 18 Feb. 1911 in Terryville, Litchfield Co., CT; he was then living in Plymouth, CT. They were living at 25 West Main St., Terryville, in 1917, and at 7 West Main St. by 1920. He was naturalized 16 June 1921.

His birth date is shown as 15 Dec. 1887 in his declaration of intention for naturalization, and as 22 Apr. 1888 in his obituary. However, his baptismal record in Poland shows that he was born 24 March 1887. While he was baptized Greek Catholic in Poland, he attended or joined Sts. Cyril & Methodius Russian Orthodox Church, Terryville, CT.
