On a trip moving a family member from New Mexico to Montana in July of 2002, I took a wrong turn and ended up in Kayenta, Arizona instead of Medicine Hat, Arizona. I believe something directed me there. Zona was found at a gas station we stopped at, begging for food and water. The temperature that day was 106 degrees. She was skin and bones and after picking her up and taking her back to Montana to the vet, we found out she weighed 22 pounds and was approximately 6 months old. We were told she would not have survived much longer. My daughter took her and raised her and when we found our dog Yukon that same summer and took him in, they became best friends. We had to separate them due to us moving to another state in 2009. Neither dog was the same. She died within 2 months of her best friend Yukon Richmond.
