Source: "The Way of the Leaf", by Ted Newton, ggg grandson of Kizziah, great grandson of Peter John............After Kizziah's father died, she and her mother went to live with her mother's parents Uriah Sherrill, he was commonly called "Ute". His farm was next to the Ebenezer B. Newton family, Solomon's father, eventually Solomon & Kizziah would marry.

John Sherrill, Kizziah's mother's brother, lived next door to Solomon Newton as their land adjoined in Macon County, now Swain County.

After the death of Kizziah's husband, Solomon in about 1863, she went to live with her oldest daughter, Mary.

1870 Big Spring Jackson, NC census, list Kizzah, age 64, living with her widowed daughter Mary and children.

1880 Cassville, Bartow county, GA census, she was living with another daughter, Narcissa and husband George W. Cline. Her daughter Mary and her family are shown as the next family.
