Elizabeth was a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Bell. She married Arthur Smith in 1884.

FUNERAL OF MRS. NELLIE BELL SMITH. Her Mortal Remains Buried in the Masonic Plot at Myrtle Grove Cemetery.

With sad and impressive rites the mortal remains of the late Mrs. Nellie Bell Smith were consigned to their final resting place in the Masonic plot at Myrtle Grove cemetery Sunday afternoon. Services were held at both the family residence and at the grave, being conducted by Rev. J. H. Wythe of the Methodist church, assisted by Rev. E P. Shier of the Presbyterian church. The funeral ceremonies were largely attended, and the cortege that followed the remains to the cemetery was many blocks in length. Members of the Chosen Friends and Order of Eastern Star of which deceased was a member attended in a body. The choir assisting in the services was composed of Mesdames Young and Christie and Messrs. A. J. Monroe and Austin Bohall. The pall-bearers were: Willard Wells, Frank Clyborne C. V. Otto, Denver Sevier, George Thompson and W. A. McNamara.
