Baptized at St Mary's Church in New Orleans, LA in 1902. Middle name of Lachesi has been spelled numerous ways on documents but this is how it is spelled in his baptism record.

Three Near Death
"Injured so critically that physical despair of saving their lives are Don Martello, 36, of 4226 Broadway, an employee of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, his wife Doris, 32 and Leland Culver Jr.; 18 of 3849 Sherman Way, a sophomore at Sacramento Junior College.
The Martello's and Culver were hurt in an early morning crash yesterday at Fifty First Street and Folsom Boulevard in which five other college and high school students were injured, Miss Maureen Burke 16, Miss Bobbie Williams 17, Miss Nancy Nassoiy 18, Gilbert Freeman 17, Dolan F. Herd Jr. 17, the driver of the second machine which crashed with the Martello's.
Crashes Broadside
Radio Patrolman Stanton Richards and Walter Sked, who investigated the accident said the car driven by Herd crashed broadside into that driven by Martello when the latter attempted to make a left turn.
The Martello machine careened out of control into a vacant lot, and several of the students in the Herd car were hurled to the pavement. Herd and his companions, including young Cuver, were on their way home from a dance.
Injuries Are Severe
Martello's injuries include a ruptured kidney while both Mrs. Martello's legs were fractured and she suffered internal injuries. Culver suffering a fractured skull has not regained consciousness.
Martello is in Sutter Hospital while the other victims were taken to Sacramento Hospital."

"Hospital attaches today said Don Martello, 38, P. G, & E. foreman, one of three persons injured critically Sunday " Spent another restful night and is showing signs of improvement."
The other two, Martello's wife, 32, and Leland Culver Jr. 18, college student, are reported to have rested well but their condition remains critical."
Sadly, Leland died five days after the accident and is also at East Lawn Cemetery.

Martello, 73, died Wednesday (paper says Aug 6) at his home.
A native of Louisiana, Martello was a resident of Sacramento for 64 years.
Until his recent retirement he had been with Pacific Gas & Electric Company for 43 years, including being a foreman.
He was a member of Provident Lodge No. 609 F&AM, Ben Ali Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Sierra Shrine of Quincy, Sons In Retirement and a life member of Pacific Service Equipment Association of P.G.&E
Survivors include son Donn W. Martello of Sacramento, daughter Marjorie Beebe of Redding; brother of Sam Martello and Mickey Boddy of Sacramento.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital For Crippled Children."
