"In this city, November 21, to the wife of Sant Martello, 3902 Sacramento Avenue, a son."
Note: The date in this birth announcement is as found in the newspaper.
Before I begin I want to explain something that took me awhile to figure out. Josephine is the daughter of Nunzia Pasquale-Pugliese. Sant is the son of Cologero Joseph Martello. Nunzia had been married before as had Cologero, each having the above mentioned children from their first marriages. Nunzia and Cologero Joseph would get married to each other which by marriage made Sant and Josephine step brother and sister, no blood between them. Sant and Josephine married each other, both claiming the same siblings which can give a Genealogist more than a few sleepless nights trying to figure out.
