Mary Carbajal Baca, 62,a resident of Hurley, entered eternal rest Friday at Gila Regional Medical Center. Visitation was held at 6 Monday evening at the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Hurley, where the prayer vigil was held at 7. The funeral liturgy was to be celebrated there this morning at 10 with Father Ray Jackson officiating. The rite of committal and interment followed at the Hurley Cemetery. She was born Oct.3,1935, in Silver City to Pedro Carbajal and Angela Gomez. She attended Grant County schools and married A.J. "George" Baca. She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed sewing and cooking. Mrs. Baca was an active member of the Infant Jesus Parish and was Cursillista. Survivors include three sons, Joe Baca and his wife, Lisa, of Roswell, Ray Baca and his wife, Patsy, of Hurley, and Frank Baca and his wife, Anita of Mission,SD; three daughters, Lupe Gutierrez of Bernalillo, Susie Armendariz and her husband, Mike, of Bayard, and Lucy Montoya and her husband, Robert, of Tyrone; five brothers, Nacho Carbajal of Silver City, Ray Carbajal of Riverside, Calif., Frank Carbajal of Bayard, Felix Carbajal of Albuquerque, and Albert Carbajal of Pueblo, Colo.,one sister, Angie Carbajal of Tucson, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her parents, Pedro and Angela Carbajal; a sister, Lucy Udero, in 1980; her husband, A.J. "George" Baca, in 1995; and brothers, Pete and Johnny Carbajal, in 1995, and Rudy Carbajal preceded her in death, in 1996. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Mike and Buddy Baca, Eric and Kevin Gutierrez, and Anthony and Gabriel Armendariz. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, U.S. 180 at Delk Drive, Silver City.
