Mr. Jack Bond Dick of Lethbridge, husband of Dorothy Dick, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2009 at the age of 87 years.

Born June 13, 1921 in High River, Alberta, the youngest child of Catharine and Ward Dick.

His early years were spent on the Elkhorn Ranch on Willow Creek, after which the family moved into High River, and later Calgary. At a dance in 1939, Jack was spotted by Dorothy Nielsen. The two were married January 18, 1942 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Calgary, after which they took up residence in Edmonton.

While working there for Canadian Airways Training Limited, Jack was invited to become an instructor in the newly formed R.C.A.F. Para Rescue School, under the guidance of the legendary Wilfred "Wop" May.

In the early 1950's Jack, Dorothy and their two young sons moved to Lethbridge. It was here that Jack founded Prairie Ditching Ltd.

Predeceased by his parents James Ward and Catharine (Bond) Dick; brother and hero, Ward James "Jim" (Helen) Dick as well as his most beloved cousin and dear friend Archibald "Archie" (Dorothy) Dick.

Funeral Service held on Monday, May 25, 2009 St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Lethbridge, Alberta.
