Marjorie Emma Van Lear, 86, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away Wednesday in Parkview Hospital located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born on November 6, 1921 in Valleyford, Washington to the late Albert Erickson and the late Mary (Peck) Erickson. She married the late Robert M. Van Lear on December 4, 1942 in Garrett, Indiana and he passed away on May 1, 1999.

Marjorie and her husband retired to Crooked Lake in Angola, Indiana and Alamo, Texas; where they enjoyed many years.

She was a member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church and had retired from Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne in 1975 with over 15 years of employment. She and Robert were also owner/operators of Van's Fabrics in Monroeville.

Marjorie is survived by son Robert W. (Laverne) Van Lear of Monroeville, Indiana, son, Michael (Shirley) Van Lear of Grove, Oklahoma, daughter, Cheryl Van Lear of Madison, Wisconsin, six grandchildren; Robert Christopher Van Lear, Jennifer Lynn Thomas, Keith Van Lear, Jacob Van Lear, Cheryl Smith & Adam Van Lear and eleven great-grandchildren; Derek Christopher Thomas, Quinton Thomas, Grace Elizabeth Van Lear, Griffin Robert Van Lear, Elizabeth Emma Van Lear, William Christopher Van Lear, Jessica Lorin Van Lear, Aaron Jacob Van Lear, Aidan Jacob Van Lear, Sophia Ann Smith & Zachary Elijah Van Lear.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Erickson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with the Rev. Denise Lapsley officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received from noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel.

Preferred memorials are to the Monroeville EMS or the donor's choice.
