Funeral services were held July 12 from the Church of Seven Dolors. Rev. Lawrence Botz officiated. Pallbearers were: Ed Kuhn Frank Renkes, Fred Kuhn, Hubert Roers, Raymond Abel and Philip Pischke. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
Peter Abel was born in Germany, October 26, 1881, the son of Michael and Anna Abel. He came to the United States when he was less than a year old, with his parents, coming directly to Millerville township, Douglas county. Peter was never married and spent his entire life in the Millerville community and has been a lifetime member of the Seven Dolors parish.
He passed away at Our Lady of Mercy hospital in Alexandria, July 9, at the age of 76 years, 8 months, 13 days. Surviving him are two brothers, Fredrick and Nicholas Abel, and one sister, Mary (Mrs. Joseph Cichy) all of Millerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: John, Michael and Conrad, and one sister, Elizabeth (Mrs. Clemens Arken).
