Daughter of John W. and Cecilia Kent Leavitt, aunt of artist Cecilia Beaux. Cecilia had begun her artistic training under Eliza. Cecilia painted "Aunt Eliza Leavitt" in 1905. The following year Eliza died at Eastern Point, Gloucester, Massachusetts, the location of her niece Cecilia's retreat Green Alley. She is buried in the Beaux plot with her sister, brother-in-law, and mother. The stone is not legible.
