From History of Centre Co. about the Bailey Family: Elisha's occupation was a shoemaker. He and his family were from England and settled near Kennet Square, in Chester Co., PA, prior to the Revolution. His family as well as his wife's family the Scott's, participated in the Revolutionary War on the side of the colonies. After marrying Elizabeth Scott in 1794 in Lancaster Township, Lancaster Co., PA, he moved his wife and family in 1800 to Mifflin County, PA, where he died in 1808 leaving his widow and four small children. It is unknown what cemetery he is buried in.
