ROCKLAND - Mary E. Payson Joy, 89, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, February 14, 2011, in the care of her daughters and their families, after a period of failing health. Born in Rockland, March 30, 1921, she was the daughter of Herman W. and Ethel M. Perry Payson. She was educated in Rockland schools.
Pre-deceased by her husband, Albert A. Joy in 1998, Mary is survived by four daughters, Shirley Anderson of Owls Head, Marie Isabelle White of Randolph, Eleanor Kinney and her husband Arnold 'Buzzy' Kinney of Spruce Head, Sandra Mank and her husband Gordan of Rockport; a brother Harold H. 'Dynamite' Payson and his wife Amy of South Thomaston; a sister Helen Post and her husband Edgar of Spruce Head; eleven grandchildren, Angela, Valerie, Holly, Stephanie, Tascia, Toryann, Tiffany, Katrina, Kelly, Suzzanne, Gordon; 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews.
