Mr Jason Edward Bass Sr 68 of 525 Bass Lane died March 17 1997 at Presbyterian Hospital Funeral services will be at 3:30 pm Thursday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel with Jim Matthews and John Alden elders of the congregation officiating Visitation will follow the service.

Mr Bass was born Feb 24 1929 in Mecklenburg County son of the late Jessie Rea and Lola Deese Bass He was a member of Jehovah's Witness Providence Park Congregation and a graduate of Matthews High School He served for four years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and was the retired owner of Plastic Former Company.

Surviving are his wife Jerry La-Vonne Thompson Bass children Jason Edward Bass Jr of Davidson NC and Tamara M Bass of Mt Holly NC grandchildren Chase Buchanan and Elizabeth Ashley Bass sister Eleanor B Hayes of Charlotte and brothers J Rea Bass Jr Lee Bass and Bill M Bass all of Charlotte Mr Bass was loved by all and will never be forgotten

It is a biography of his sisters life but the first half is devoted to her childhood and family history. Excellent telling of Mecklenburg Co. / Union county history. The book is called GRAMFLAKES. Mrs. Thompson, 99, of Matthews died Sunday October 19, 2003 at Lake Park Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday October 22, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 4431 Old Monroe Road.

Mrs. Thompson was born on October 28, 1903 in Union County. She was a Jehovah's Witness since 1959 and very active as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Thompson was predeceased by, her husband, Seborn Thompson, her son, Dale B. Thompson, and her daughters, Carrie Thompson and Doris Stilwell.

Her survivors include, daughters, Betty Sewell of Matthews and Jerry LaVonne Bass of Charlotte, and son, S. L. Thompson, Jr. and wife, Rose-Mary, of Charlotte, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

The family asks that memorials may be made to Jehovah's Witness, Chestnut Lane, Matthews, NC 28104, or the Matthews Help Center, 232 Trade Street, Matthews, NC 28105.

Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral, Indian Trail Chapel.
