CALVIN ROUND
---Calvin Round, son of Zird and Emeline Shed Round, was born in Washington County, Iowa on October 28, 1842 and died in St. Louis, Missouri February 27, 1921, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cally Borron, after a few weeks illness, aged seventy-nine years.
---He came to Missouri in early life. When the Civil War broke out he enlisted in the Union Army and served to the end of the War and was a survivor of the Centralia massacre. He was a member of the G.A.R.
---He was married to Miss Nancy Eveline Silver on October 28, 1865. He and his wife were converted and united with the Christian Church at La Plata where they held loyal membership until the death of his wife which occurred April 20, 1919. Then Brother Round moved to St. Louis where he made his home with his nephew, C.A. Borron until his death.
---Calvin Round was a loving husband, a good citizen and a devoted christian. His life was worthy of imitation and he died in the final triumph of a living faith.
---He leaves many relatives and friends to mourn his death.
---The body was brought to La Plata Tuesday where funeral services were held at the Christian Church, conducted by Rev. F.L. Davis, after which he was laid to rest in the La Plata cemetery by the side of his wife who preceded him in death two years ago.
