PROVO--A long search by Utah County officers and volunteer workers for the body of Ralph C. Hundley, 32 [33], of Provo, who with a companion, Jack G. Williams, 33, was drowned March 15 in Utah Lake ended Friday when the body of Mr. Hundley was discovered shortly after noon on the edge of the lake, just south of the Provo River channel.

Ed Madsen of Provo, who has been assisting in the search from the start, discovered the body, still dressed in a heavy sheepskin jacket and hip boots.

The body of Mr. Williams was found April 20, about 200 yards off the shore and just north of the river channel. The two men left March 15 for a trip on the lake in a small, outboard motor boat.

The 61-day search for Mr. Hundley's body is the longest in the history of the lake, according to Deputy Sheriff Claude Carter, who was in charge. Scores of boatmen, CCC and volunteer searchers aided.

Mr. Hundley was born February 15, 1909 [1908], son of the late J. D. and Maggie F. Hundley. He received his education in Provo City schools and Brigham Young University and married Hazel Snow July 15, 1926. He was engaged in the trucking business at the time of his death.

Besides his widow and mother, surviving are two sons and three daughters: Ralph James, Jeanine, Patrick, Colleen and Margaret Hundley of Provo; one sister Lucile Hundley, a half sister, Mrs. Alice H. Mauvel [Maurel] of Los Angeles, and a half brother, E. J. Hundley of Provo.

Funeral arrangements are in [the] charge of the Deseret Mortuary.
