Harry Leroy Bonnicksen, the son of Knudand Gina (Taft) Bonnicksen, was born October 26, 1915 in Ringsted, Iowa and departed this life at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa on Sunday, May 10, 1992 at the age of 76 years, 6 months, and 14 days.

He received his education in the Ringsted schools. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

On October 13, 1942 he was united in marriage to Mildred Wilberg in Santa Monica, California. Mr Bonnicksen lived most of his life in Ringsted and Armstrong, Iowa area. He was employed as a well driller. He later was employed for eight and a half years at Art's Way Manufacturing in Armstrong, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong; life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5232 in Armstrong, and Christensen-Bonnicksen American Legion Post 382 in Ringsted, Iowa.

Mr. Bonnicksen issurvived by his wife, Mildred of Armstrong; two daughters, Diane Clabaugh and her husband Victor of Parnell, Iowa; Carol Corderman and her husband Steve of Armstrong; five grandchildren, Cory and Chad Clabaugh, Scott, Michael, and Michele Corderman, two great-grandchildren, Cody and Miranda Clabaugh; one brother, Donald Bonnicksen and his wife Lillian; and one sister-in-law Claudia Bonnicksen both of Estherville, Iowa. He has been preceded in death by his parents, two brother, and two sisters.

Funeral serice was at Nazareth Luthern Church in Armstrong, Iowa on Wednesday, May 13, 1992 with Pastor Donohue Sarff officiating. Interment was at Armstrong Grove Cemetery, Armstrong, Iowa with Military Graveside Services by Armstrong VFW Post 5232. Casketbearers were Don Carlson, Merilyn Hovick, Arlo Jones, Robert Nicoson, Arnold Schilling, and Paul Stebritz.
