Elenor was the daughter of Joseph Curtis and Hannah Bouchier.
She was born in England , the second youngest child. Her christening was September 14, 1823 at Newton-on-Ouse, Yorkshire, England.
Her mother died in 1826, possibly from complications of childbirth of the last child.
In 1831 the father, having lost his firstborn son Samuel, and wife, came to America with five of his eight children.
He brought his children- Hannah, Joseph, Robert, Elenor and Eliza.
The older two children, Matthew Linton and Mary remained behind until later.
Elenor married Franklin Clark in 1850 , from Vermont and they had several children: Mary, Ellen and Willie.
They lived in Palatine , Illinois, but later joined her brothers and sisters who had moved on to the New Lisbon, Wisconsin area.
