Robert Curtis married Harriet Jeffery in 1847 near Des Plaines , Illinois.
He became a farmer and lived in Illinois, and he located near his brother Joseph. Farming in the summer and hunting in the fall and winter, the two of them were well known hunters of deer and Prairie Chickens.The two brothers often said that Robert was known to hunt six days a week and Joseph every other day!
He followed his brother Joseph to New Lisbon, Wisconsin and again located near him around 1865.
He and Harriet had five children, Ellen M , John H, Abby E, Edwin and Frances Mildred.
Robert was a New Lisbon Second Ward Alderman 1889-90
