Raymond Applegate was born and raised in Haddonfield, NJ. He joined the U.S. Army in 1918 and trained at Camp Dix before going overseas to fight in WW-I. After the war he married Eileen Search and they lived in Collingswood, NJ. When WW-II started he again joined the U.S. Army and served as an instructor at Fort Dix. Raymond died in 1961 in a Philadelphia hospital, but was retired living in Tuckerton at the time of his death and had been in Tuckerton before the death of his wife in 1956.
