Mr. Harris died Tuesday (July 16, 1991) in DeKalb General Hospital.
Born May 25, 1900 in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Harmon Y. and Phebe Richardson Harris. Mr. Harris was a retired farmer and a member of the Boma First Church of God.
His family includes five daughters, Louise Maynard of Baxter, Mildred Wine, Jenell Parker and Pat Harris, all of Nashville, Peggy Youmans of Florence, South Carolina; five sons, William S. Harris Jr. of Madison, Wisconsin, Othis Harris of Hendersonville, Roy and Howard Harris, both of Baxter & Jim Harris; 20 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lee Montgomery Harris.
