She was born March 12, 1875, in Crawford County, Indiana, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Stroud. She came to Kansas in a covered wagon at the age of four with her parents. They homesteaded near Cherryvale. She was married November 26, 1896 to Robert Fox Cantrall who died January 26, 1945. On July 2, 1946, she was married to Stephen A. Allen at Marengo, Indiana. They made their home in Shelbyville, Indiana until his death October 22, 1961. Since then she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wayne J. (Alma) Smith. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fredonia, Kansas.
In addition to Mrs. Smith, she is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Cantrall, Wagoner, OK.; Howard R. Cantrall, Fredonia, and another daughter, Mrs. George (Lois) Perry, Wichita; one step-daughter, Mrs. Helen Hebbe and one step-son, Charles Allen, Shelbyville, Indiana. One son, Raymond Cantrall died January 10, 1930. She is also survived by seven grand-children and 15 great grand-children.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 3p.m. at the Dunham Funeral Home, Fredonia. The Rev. Robert Hazen, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Fredonia will Officiate. Burial will be in Fredonia Cemetery.
