Mrs. Elizabeth Wagner, 77, a life long resident of Madison Township, passed away at the St. Joseph hospital last Thursday. she had been ill for two weeks, and was taken to the hospital on Monday, January 23. She was born in Madison Township December 18, 1861, the daughter of Jacob and Regina. she married September 1, 1886 to Albert Wagner, who died 16 years ago.
She leaves seven children, Ernest of Gilman, Wis., Mrs. Frieda Hoffman of Lakeville, Charles of South Bend, Julius and Martin of Madison township, Mrs. Olga Frick of Mishawaka and Mrs. Clara Berger of Penn township; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Christena Beron of North Liberty, and a brother, Henry Birk of this place.
the funeral was held Sunday, at 1:30 in the Zion Evangelical Church where she has been a member since girlhood. the Rev. Philip Pobanz officiated. Burial was in Rest Haven cemetery.
Elizabeth was confirmed at Zion Evangelical Church on April 30, 1876.
