Byron Roberts died early Friday morning, Jan. 10 at the La Junta Medical Center Nursing Home.

He was born in Patterson, Iowa, July 15, 1879. As a small boy he moved with his parents to Nebraska, then to a homestead near Jetmore, Kan.

He married Blanche O Warner, Sept 7, 1898 in Ness City, Kan. The family lived in Western Kansas until 1928 when they moved to Colorado. He had lived in the Arkansas Valley where he was engaged in ranching and farming. Mr. Roberts retired in November 1946 and moved to La Junta. He had been in nursing homes at Hugo and La Junta since 1966.

Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 29, 1970. Survivors include four sons, twins, Floyd L, Karval and Lloyd F, Post Falls, Ida; Charley A, Chewelah, Wash; Murrell, Hurst, Tex; two daughters, Mrs. Darline Merwin, La Junta; Mrs Robert (Alberta) Osburn, Coer d'Alene, Ida.

He was affiliated with the Church of God.
