SLATER, EARL
Earl Slater, a former resident of Tulsa and later of Wichita Falls, Tex, died at Los Angeles, Cal., Saturday morning at the age of 47 years and four days. He was born July 4, 1874, in Clarion county, Pa. Mr. Slater was well known in Tulsa, having lived here for several years prior to 1908. Since then he has made his home at Electra and Wichita Falls, and was a prominent operator and contractor in the Texas oil fields. He was at one time mayor of Electra.
He leaves a wife, two brothers, and a sister, C. P. Slater, of Tulsa, H. R. Slater, of Ossawatomie, Kan. And Mrs. W. M. Watson of Wichita Falls. Burial will be at Los Angeles Monday. (The Morning Tulsa Daily World, Tulsa, Okla, July 10, 1921)

Inscription
Earl Slater has two emblems on his crypt. One is for membership in the B.P.O.E., the eagle emblem indicates he was a Mason, he obtained the rank of 32nd Degree.
