Mrs. Natalie Rose (Ambridge) Yager, 83 of the Wilkinson Center, Amsterdam, formerly of Nelliston and St. Johnsville, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday morning, December 23, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam with the love and support of her daughter, Rosanne, at her side. She was born on January 15, 1927 in Fort Plain, daughter of the late Nelson and Verlie (Van Etta) Ambridge and educated in St. Johnsville schools. She was united in marriage with Lloyd W. Yager, Sr., on April 24, 1948 a blessed union of 43 years until his passing in August of 1991. Natalie was last employed with Beech Nut Corporation retiring in 1989, after 25 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Yager was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She loved to play cards, especially pitch and found enjoyment in playing bingo. She was never happier then when it was the Christmas holiday season and in the camaraderie of family. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary of Canajoharie and Cobleskill, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary of Fort Plain and the spouse of a charter member of the Canajoharie/Fort Plain Elks Lodge #2621. Suvivors include her beloved family: three daughters: Rosanne Hoffman of Fort Plain, Joanne Yager of Fort Plain, and Marianne Vendetti of Gloversville; four sons: Lloyd Yager Jr. of Canajoharie, Robert & Patricia Yager of Albany, Thomas & Kathy Yager of Fort Plain and Perley & Cindy Yager of Ilion; twelve cherished grandchildren: Warren, William Hoffman, Robert and Heather Yager, Chad Munn, Kristopher Colvin, Thomas Hickock, Jason Vendetti, Perley Jr., Brandon Yager, Richard and Amy Gautheinz and ten adored great grandchildren; three sisters: Gladys Martigon of Fort Plain, Eleanor Ambridge of Albany and Adeline Skee and husband Charles of Amsterdam; a brother: Nelson Ambridge and wife Irene of Canajoharie; in laws: Sue Reese and husband Robert of Nelliston, Betty Jean Przestrzelski of Fort Plain, and Carl Yager and wife Sandy of Florida; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Nelson and Verlie Ambridge; a grandson, Nicholas Vendetti and by a sister, Jeanette Rice. Relatives and friends were invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville on Monday, December 27, 2010. Mrs. Yager's funeral was at 11am on Tuesday, Dec. 28 from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman, officiating. Spring interment will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. Kindly consider memorial offerings in Mrs. Yager's name to the Diabetes Research Center, FOE Grand Aerie, 1623 Gateway Circle South, Grove City, OH 43123 or to the Veteran Program c/o the Canajoharie-Fort Plain Elks Lodge #2621, Old Station Road, Nelliston, NY 13410. The family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff, nurses and doctors of both the Wilkinson Nursing Home of Amsterdam and St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam for their tender love and care offered during this difficult time. These staffs took wonderful care of both Natalie and her family. Also, a special thank you to Natalie's doctor, Dr. Zimmerman, for the wonderful care he gave to her over the years.
