David Kerr, 69, of 1718 E. Fox Street died early Saturday morning in his home after an extended illness. He was retired from Ferman & Co. He was born January 21, 1913, in Scotland and lived in South Bend since 1955, coming from Galesburg, Illinois. In October of 1947, in Adrian, Michigan, he married Bertha P. Rule, who survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. Sharlene Vaerewyck of South Bend and Mrs. Sandra Woltman of Mishawaka; a son, Steven Kerr of Niles, Michigan; and five grandchildren.

Private services will be held Monday at Weisleimer Funeral Home with Rev. William Schooler C.S.C., associate pastor of St. Monica's Catholic Church officiating. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek Michigan.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society.
