Confederate Veteran, Dead

Mr. John W. Chittum, a confederate veteran of the 58th Virginia regiment, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Houston Chittum, in Buena Vista Sunday, Nov. 5, 1916, aged eighty six years. Funeral services were held in the Lutheran church at Donaldsburg the following Tuesday, conducted by Rev. J. C. Garber, with interment in Green Hill cemetery.

Mr. Chittum is survivedby his wife, who was Miss Painter of this county, and seven children: W. J. abd C. N. Chittum of Fairfield; C. C. Chittum of Miday; J. J. Chittum of Midvale; Mrs. Phoebe Green of Midvale, and Misses Frannie and Georgie Chittum of Buena Vista.
