Hester A. Abitz, 86, 500 Grand Ave., Wausau, died Friday at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. The former Hester Schaumburger was born Jan. 22, 1896, in Parcherville, the daughter of Simon and Emma Schaumburger. She was married Feb. 22, 1923, in Rothschild to Otto Abitz, who died in 1966. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Schofield, the Eastern Star Marathon County Chapter 123, the White Shrine and the UCC Guild of Peace United Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Roy, Green Bay and Gerald, Milwaukee; and a daughter, Janet Kemerer, La Porte, Ind.
