She was born Jan. 7, 1919 in Petersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Glen and Artie Nelson Alt.
She had been active with the Summit Valley United Methodist Church.
Florence is survived by three sons Ronald G. Vanscoy of Torch, Ohio, James H. Vanscoy of Wilmington, N.C., Robert L. Vanscoy of Summit; three grandchildren Carl, Robin, Heather; several great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; sister Cretta and two brothers Gene and Harold.
In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband Marion Hugh Vanscoy; daughter Sharon A. Deem and three sisters and three brothers.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday and prior to the services on Tuesday.
